Compton Embraces CNG Alternative Fuel For Its Future Use

Sacbee.com -- On Wednesday, August 22, 2012 City officials met with Niyato Industries executives to consider a Bi-fuel (gasoline and CNG) pick-up truck referred to as the Compress Natural Gas 150 or N-150. The City of Compton is currently exploring the use of CNG vehicles by updating its fleet of trucks extensively used by the City's Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Fire and Water Departments.

Leslie Stencil, President and CEO of Niyato Industries, indicated that the introductory N-150 model is available to travel approximately 650 miles using both fuel sources before refueling. If equipped with the larger CNG tank, the N-150 pick-up truck can travel up to 880 miles before refueling.

"I was able to drive the N-150 pick-up truck from Las Vegas to Compton and used only 1/3 of my total fuel supply

Letting tax dollars that aren't mine pay for the real world experience works for me. And Californians get to pick up the tab for being on the cutting edge again. And is Compton one of the cities in California that has/is about to/declare bankruptcy? ACTUALLY - just looking at Wikipedia the city is notorious for Chicago like corruption, but these folks are stupid enough to get caught. Some of the scandals (there are a LOT) include phony waste-to energy schemes. (Others involve gang involvement with the mayor). Having California tax dollars pay for this - Californians have the government they deserve.

Great few hundred mile range, but you are going to have to have a good old gasoline or diesel powered tow truck to get you back home.

It's also good to use a base of a Ford truck and Niyato says its products and workforce are all American. One minor flaw is all sales are through Starpoint USA which is a DBA of the Korean company Daewoo. So some of the sales dollars will be shipped back to Korea. Can't have everything I guess.
