Ford didn't get a cent from the US government yet it is expanding in the US.

But Ford did get money from the Canadian government and hasn't expanded in Canada.

Good news, especially for a hard-hit neighborhoods around the plant.

Even though the jobs won't come before the fall, people are hopeful.

Good for Ford and the people that they will put to work in Illinois! I don't know why everyone keep blaming the unions on the American automakers woes... no doubt the unions played a part, but there were huge mistakes made in the past by the Big Three - what they are going through has more to do with their arrogance and greed than anything else.

According to FOX news they will make $14.00 an hour and reduced benefits. Maybe that's why they're putting them on a separate shift from the ones that are getting full benefits and $28.00 an hour, ya think?

Very good news for the local economy. The auto industry will survive if the unions don't go back to stomping them to death.

This is a long term commitment for Ford. They must be confident in their ability to sell these vehicles.

It seems to be a rather safe bet!

Oh I am sorry Sammy63 but it isn't Obama money, that is our money. And he has used most of it to cut deals with Union Bosses.

One more thing, Ford didn't take an money!

I like hiring more US workers, but an EXPLORER?!?!? why an SUV? I thought the SUV market went the way of the dinosaur!?!? I've ridden in an explorer, It's basically an uncomfortable Mini van, but it gets a LOT poorer gas milage. I would MUCH rather ride in our Chrysler Town and Country. Better ride, better milage.

Instead of the Explorer, they should put their emphasis on the smaller, more fuel efficient cars like the Focus or the Fusion. I guess they STILL haven't learned their lesson.
