Too many refinery fires, high crude oil prices, high prices at the pump. When will ALL refineries have far superior fire suppression devices to smother the fire immediately with foam, etc.! Barry's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Barry's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continues to be down – no matter how smoooooth talking Barry spins those numbers and he can spin them very well! People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too! Can't there be some 'hope and change' soon, very soon? Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

more excuses from our govt which has done nothing over the past 20 yrs while watching refineries shut down, and not requiring new ones to be built. One refinery hiccups, and gas prices shoot up! Why has govt allowed this situation to happen in the first place?

does anyone think that all the SUV's might have something to do with the supply of gas? and is it more or less than our "leaders" flying around the country seeking our vote?

I find it odd that the gas prices rising are blamed for some issues that happen almost within a week such as the Martinez chevron refinery fire. The turn around takes much longer than that, I feel if the wind blows the wrong way price gouging runs unchecked with no accountability.

The RECENT spike in gas prices in California might be attributed to the refinery fire, but out Federal government can take the blame for most of the high prices that ALL Americans pay for fuel.
