What Model Year is That? You Might be Surprised

ROAD&TRACK -- Blame the economy, or better engineering. The fact is, more and more people are looking to save money by holding onto their vehicles for a longer period of time. Despite what others have said, I like the Prius best of those on the list.

Would that be a policemen who after pulling you over for speeding has to stand on a foot stool to pass the ticket through the window to you?

A Ford Mustang "timeless"?? In just a few years, they start showing their age as the owners give up the battle of trying to maintain them. Those who decide to breathe life into one of the "vintage" clunkers ('65,'68,etc.) end up with a car that they just drive to shows. Any more mileage than that and they just rapidly disintegrate.

Mini Copper? ...don't think so. Not only is it a bit queer in looks, I don't think it would ever fit my needs for a machine.

Yep, during this economy, who but the rich can afford to buy a new car?

It is a good article and there are cars which do look sharp and keep their appeal. I see them still on the highway so people are keeping them longer.

I pretty good article and I kinda agree with everything except the Toyota Prius.

It is UGLY, slow and generally a traffic hazard on the freeways.

Not sure about growing old gracefully as I think the economic situation is unlikey to substantially improved for many years.

While I used to buy a new car every year - I now will keep my 1 year old for maybe another 4-7.
